Don’t Go for SmartBro!
I guess I am now one of the hundreds of SmartBro unsatisfied costumers. It has been weeks since I switched from dial-up to SmartBro thinking that it was a “better†option. But after 2 weeks, our connection went crappy. It goes went intermittently on and off. Our connection had been off for a week now. I’ve called their costumer care service for several times, getting the same promises that I will get a response to my problem within 24 hours. I first called last January 25 and until now my problem was not addressed. Our schedule for repair was today, February 4, but no one from their office came to see my problem. Then when I called a while ago, I found out that it was rescheduled tomorrow without even informing me of the changes. Imagine, I waited the whole day for nothing. God, I am getting impatient! Good if they allow their costumers to delay their payment for a week.
Note: This entry was supposed to be posted last night but my connection was cut off after few hours, hence the delay.
Update for the problem:
The connection is back to its normal speed now. According to the technical staff, there was a blockage of signal transmission so they transfer the antenna at the rooftop. I hope this will not happen again.
Although the connection was back to normal, I am still unsatisfied with their customer care service. They should give a definite schedule and avoid re-scheduling or at least inform the costumer concerned of the reschedule so they wouldn’t wait for nothing. What happened to me was really disappointing.

Well, Smart Bro has the worst performance ever. PLDT pales in comparison to SmartBro in terms of suckage.
Hmmm…I haven’t had a problem with SmartBro yet. There are isolated incidents, though. Well, same with Globe. My friends kept complaining about Globe Broadband.
Welcome to the club! hehe… As I said, I was a smart bro-ken sub and 1 thing I hate about them aside from the slow connection , is the after sales service. They kept promising that a scheduler will call you back within 24 hours so that they can schedule you for repairs but 2 days after no schedulers called and you have to remind them to call you back (i think every 30 mins, I call the customer hotline just to remind them and ask if their schedulers are still breathing). Aside from that if you ever get a schedule, most of the time the field inspector won’t come without a call from their dispatcher that they can’t come due to some lame excuses. And your schedule is ruined.
I’m just glad I switch to Bayantel, never had a problem (cross fingers) except now due to taiwan quake.
Yeah, I think they should improve their customer care support. Too bad I have already agreed a 12-month subscription to them (I think it’s a new policy) so i can’t switch to a better provider.
well, its a normal policy, you have to stay with them (and same with other internet service) for 1 year.
One thing that I was really furious about when I was to ask for pull out, I was ask to pay the professional fee (cut off extra fee aside from the deadline of your payment. e.g if you have to pay at 20th and your cut off is every 23rd, you have to pay the 3 extra days, something like that) grrr… Wala namang professional sa kanila..
I have little complains about Globelines Broadband now that they have fixed my connection problems, after 2 weeks.
This broadband connection they have is damn shit. there is no day that it won’t stable to connect. my calendar has lots of x mark because i started to monitor they’re broadband but even 1 day of stable it won’t.
i plan to transfer to pldt which they have a landline, a dsl connection and a free ndd cal (pldt to pldt) and it only cost 888 pesos per month. rather than globelines broadband which is 995 per month. i still haven’t receive my rebate yet. WHERES THE FUCK IS MY REBATE?
all i can do this days is to wait for them to come here and get disconnected. I’m not satisfied with there service. all they want is the money we pay. that’s all..
simply amazing isn’t it? how they take their clients for granted.. I just recently had my subscription cut (actually it was just last night). reason why? simply coz they suck. I reported a slow and non-existent connection aug 3 (average speed was less than a 100kbps). guess what the excuse was? naturally the “base-station-upgrade/base-station-techprob” excuse. so i continually called their hotline (in every occasion losing at least 15mins of my precious life because no one was answering) to report and do followups. and then aug 9, I talked to “jack” and said that I was scheduled for a field visit on aug 11 to check my canopy settings because the problem maybe there. WHAT?? so why then were they saying before that the problem was in their base-station. They were practically lying to me. unfortunately for the agent, i wasn’t stupid to fall for their crap and received the hell out of me. Guess what, Aug 11 passed without a shadow of their contractors in my place. Had it cut Saturday night after waiting the whole day for a no-show contractor. I told the rep at their wireless center don’t they dare demand from me the remaining months off my contract (still just 6months with smartbro so i’m still within the lock-in period). If they want to sue me, feel free, they’ll be facing a losing battle. Whoever is planning to go SMARTBROKEN, don’t! ridiculous service!

There are tens of thousand of hits in a google search for this smartbro problem. Smart is ripping of many people and this is a problem of national importance. Consider the amount of money that smart is stealing. Stealing from hard working folks, folks that rely on their internet connection for their school, work, business, and communication around the globe.
It looks like smart will continue the ripoff by appearing to be concerned and providing dubious support and building false hopes of problem resolution. The problem will continue because it’s unsolveable.
Smart may be just keeping the cash flowing in for now, and plan to roll out WiMax sometime in the future when they can no longer deceive subscribers.
BOYCOTT SMART or better yet SUNUGIN ANG SMART! Ibalik nyo ang pera ng mga niloko nyo! MGA WALANG HIYA. PHOTA KAU SMART!
I’ve been a smart bro(ken) subscriber for few months now, and it was a hell of an experience.. i never hit 300kpbs that was promised on their ads. The smart communication tower is just few meters away from my house but the speed is just hitting almost 32kbps!
Since i’m kinda techie and im into networking, i tried to TWEAK my antenna, Canopy LiteSM. i found out that the settings are not maximized for high speed connection, i reconfigured it (change the color code, the uplink/downlink burst, maximized all posible settings i can see) and tested my connection and i got a 128kbps speed. Pero wala paring kwenta, nasan na ung “HIGH SPEED BROADBAND CONNECTION” na sinasabi nila sa ads. wala tlagang kwenta.
Over all im not satisfied with the service, mukha lang silang pera!! i’ll go for globelines after my lock in period with smart.

akalain mo sa unang 1st week ko ng gamit smart bro-adband nila ok pa sya pro ng 2nd week n ay nko tlagang makakapatay ka ng tao sa sobarang hina ng connection nila mahina pa sa dial-up. kya ang ganawa ko nalang ay kailngan mo pa syang e tweak o e mg download ka ng khit anong burstspeed na mga software. dapat sogpuin ang smart company sa kawalangyaan nila na serbisyo dapat e ban ang smart e boycot e protesta at pa media o imbestigador yan putang ina yang smartbrokennnnnnnnnn s#1+

bakit smartbro lang ba may problema??? fuck shit tong globe eh mga kumag ang staff 2 weeks na amp ang 765 kbps is merely 40-100kbps ngayon promise pa sila ng promise na maayos na to, tapos pag magrereklamo ka pa ang aarte pa ng attendants ampota, pagkakantutin ko lahat yun eh pota sila
So I heard that Globe does not have efficient after sales, and so does Smart. I guess when you are in the Philippines, you should not expect a great ISP. And that’s sad.
