How to create a free ringtone for your cell phone or iPhone?
I recently found a nifty software named Audiko. Audiko helps you make a ringtone of your favorite song online for free! Current killer features include, 1-click iPhone integration and no registration needed to start making your own ringtone. It’s also an online application meaning you don’t need to download any software to create your own tone!
How to use the application?
1. Upload your favorite song. You can either acquire your favorite song from existing URL download or upload it directly from your desktop. Currently the service only supports uploads in mp3 format.
2. Cut the portion you want as your ringtone.

3. Download your new ringtone for your iPhone (in .m4r format) or desktop. You are also given a WAP link to download your created ringtone directly to your mobile phone.

You can also use audacity to cut parts of the song and save it to your format of choice.
I personally use Sony’s Soundforge 9 to edit my mp3s and cut parts of it.
what’s nice about this technique you don’t need a internet connection hehe..
Hey! Finally, I found your new blog. The one that I bookmarked and listed on my site was a dead link.
Yeah, you don’t need an internet connection but you need one and money to download it. :p
Yep, all you need is audacity. It’s free, it’s simple to use and doesn’t require an internet connection…well except when you download the actual software and the actual mp3 file for editing.
@jam sorry about that, I keep changing web host kasi.. hehe. kindly update my link nalang.
Well I don’t know but Audacity is said to free and it should be since its under GNU General Public License like most open source software. Its only 2MB in size which is good then lame mp3 encoder plugin is also free which you need to export it to mp3.
I use http://www.mobiletrend.net for the same purpose you can request any ringtone that you like.
I used software from this site http://www.best-free-ringtone.com free and simple for users.
