Two weeks ago, Google made modifications on Adsense Terms and Condition requiring publishers to create a privacy policy for each of their websites using Adsense.
We’ve also added some specific requirements that make it necessary for publishers to post and abide by a transparent privacy policy that users see. According to this policy, publishers must notify their users of the use of cookies and/or web beacons to collect data in the ad serving process. This change relates to advertisers’ use of innovative products and features like Gadget Ads and other offerings in the future.
Remember it’s a requirement as stated, which means that you have to firmly adhere to it.
So why do we need to create a privacy policy?
It isn’t only because Google says so; as the saying goes “it’s better be safe than be sorry”. It also adds assurance and information to your visitors on how do you use their information. A great information about privacy policy can be found at Pinoy Money Talk.
How do you create one?
You can either copy from other websites’ and alter some changes to fit your website content or you can use the Adsense-friendly privacy template provided by Jensense.com. An automated PHP version is available at Nullimatrix.com which is a time saver if you were to create for your other Adsense powered sites.
