Mozilla Minefield: The Future of Firefox?

February 8th, 2009

Currently, Mozilla is building their newest browser called Minefield, said to be the future of Firefox.  Will it replace it then? We don’t know though.  It maybe a sequel to one of Mozilla’s successful products, the Firefox browser. Cnet.com even said that it is faster than Firefox.

The Mozilla Minefield is currently on it’s Alpha version, which means that it’s still on its testing phase.  Developers and even experienced internet users who want to have a first-hand browsing experience with Mozilla Minefield are encouraged to download this new browser.  As it is on its Alpha version, Mozilla Minefield is provided without any guarantees of stability, so use it at your own risk. It is recommended that you back up your profile regularly, as there may be bugs that corrupt your data.

The Mac Platform is not Safe After All

January 27th, 2009

Mac users had been enjoying a virtually virus- and malware-free platform.  That was before.  Recent virus attacks have been targetting the previously-thought safe and immune Mac platform.  As the Mac gains popularity, it become vulnerable to malware attacks as creators of these softwares deviate their attention to this platform.

As experts say, this recent vulnerability of Mac OS has been due to lack of development of anti-malware products, not because of the inherent security of the OS.

The iServices.A Trojan horse is an attack being distributed via BitTorrent, where it’s disguised as a bootleg copy of the new iWork 09. Once installed, the malware takes administrator access and connects to remote servers over the Internet, where it can be given additional instructions as the author commands, from installing additional malware to stealing information off the Mac in question. The malware creator can also take complete remote control of any compromised machine.

Intego reports that 20,000 and more have been affected by the iServices.A Trojan horse and the number continues to increase.

Because these attacks come from downloading pirated software from Torrent sites or any warez sites, Mac users are therefore advised to avoid doing these illegal downloading practices.  As is true to Windows users who have also been having similar problem.

How much are you willing to spend for a mobile phone?

January 18th, 2009

vertu-boucheron-phoneI was reading the PC World Website and the title “Meet the $30,000 Cell Phone” caught my attention. I didn’t know that a very expensive mobile phone which cost a fortune is actually real. I can already live a lifetime with that amount of money. Seriously.

The phone I was referring to was the Vertu Cell Phone that probably only rich brat like Paris Hilton can afford. What’s so special about this phone?

The accessories and phone parts are made of pure jewels. It has a ruby keypad bearings, a blemish-free sapphire and stainless steel alloy housing, a deeper bass speakers, and 18 carat gold furnishings on its metal casing. One of Vertu’s released phones is the “Vertu Boucheron 150″ which is made on pure solid gold.

Are you willing to spend as much for a cellphone? So this question is raised, how much are you willing to spend for a cellphone?

5 Tips to Becoming a Better Blogger

January 5th, 2009

Blogging has become a mainstream activity, with everyone from teenagers to grandparents now blogging regularly.  With that in mind, here are 5 tips to help you become a better bloggger.

Blog Regularly

Many bloggers do not blog often enough. If you want to keep an audience, as well as keeping search engines happy, you need to make sure to have new content on your blog. The best way is to keep a schedule – blogging at least three times a week on different topics can make or break your blog.

Interact with Your Audience

Blogging is very much a social activity. Make sure to reply to comments, trackbacks, and other ideas that are circulating around your blog and your interests.

Interact with other Bloggers

Interacting with other bloggers in your niche is an excellent way to get more links and more readers. Find other blogs in your area – respond via comments, trackbacks. Ask to guest post on those blogs and create content that those bloggers want to link to and tell their audiences about.

Schedule Your Content

If you are using Wordpress (as many bloggers do) probably the best way to create more content is to pick one time during the week and write all of your major content then.  Once you’ve finished writing your content, you can schedule it to post at a later point. You’ve created a lot of content, and at the same time created regular postings and content for your blogs.

Get an Editor

Either a friend or a fellow blogger should be able to look over your content, give you tips and ideas for your content. If you’re a full time blogger, you might want to even consider hiring  a full time editor who can help you improve your writing style. The better your blogging and writing, the more contributors, readers and traffic you will get.

What is the Getmodule30.exe, Getmodule30, Getmodule32.exe, Gadcom.exe?

December 14th, 2008

Recently, a Windows XP problem is bugging its users. It is deemed as a dangerous executable file – a malicious software, could be a virus or a Trojan horse. Besides being a malware, little information is available about Getmodule30.exe, Getmodule30, Getmodule32.exe, Gadcom.exe- how to delete, remove or disable it remains unknown. Also the cause of this problem is unknown, but similar to other malware, Getmodule30.exe, it may be come bundled from downloaded software, received e-mail, or browsing a prohibited website – maybe a porn, warez, or even from trusted software download sites. We still don’t know.

TalkActive Philippines, gives us some tips on how to remove Getmodule30.exe or Getmodule30, Getmodule32.exe and Gadcom.exe. Gadcom.exe is an executable file and obviously a dangerous Trojan/Backdoor virus. Getmodule30.exe may function or work as the same. The blogger recommends a software called “unHackme” that can remove executable files, including Gadcom.exe, Getmodule30 or Getmodule30.exe.
