I have spent four years of my life as a college student in Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology with a course in BS Biology. I have gotten the best education of my life with a minimal tuition fee ranging from P500 to P1000 per semester. MSU-IIT was named as the Center of Excellence in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics and has got several recognitions.
Congressman Tikbong Badelles authored the House Bill No. 658 which aims for the separation of MSU-IIT from its mother university, Mindanao State University. But this could mean that separation from MSU could mean the commercialization of MSU-IIT.
When this happens, the greater student population of Iligan and its nearby cities and towns will greatly be affected. Not everybody could afford to pay for the increasing tuition. The primary reason of most students from attending in MSU-IIT is monetary constraints and good education.
To all MSU-IIT students, let us scrap this proposition. Sign the online petition.
