Download Free High-Quality Sci-Fi E-Books

If you are fond of reading sci-fi books, you might want to check outTor.com, a new site managed by Tor Books, part of the Macmillan publishing group, which offers free downloads of e-books for a limited time only. The offer only runs through Sunday so hurry now!

Twenty-four (24 ) free e-books and a collection of high-resolution cover art suitable for use as a computer desktop background are available for download. The downloads are available in HTML, MOBI and PDF formats.

Free e-Books for your PDA or cellphone

Personal digital assistants (PDAs) or handheld computers, commonly known as palmtop computers, has evolved from simple organizers to being an e-book library plus several other uses. PDAs provided convenience to read and study your books anywhere. Recently released mobile phones also offer the convenience of storing e-books.

Where to find free e-books?

1. Memoware provides free ebook titles for your PDA. Fullbooks.com offer thousands of full-text books for free. They offer fiction and nonfictional books. You can find historic books as well. The Darwinian Hypothesis by Thomas H. Huxley, The Boys’ Life of Abraham Lincoln by Helen Nicolay, and The Canadian Dominion, a Chronicle of our Northern Neighbor by Oscar D. Skelton are only among the thousands of books offered.

All books are available in html which offers the convenience to print and save it directly. You also do not need to download the book because it can be opened directly through your browser. Further, document readers are not needed to view them.

Books are also arranged alphabetically for readers’ convenience and easier find. However, a search function is not yet available.

The Quest for Free Access to Medical Information

Reading medical articles aid the medical practitioners including medical students to keep abreast with the latest developments in medicine. Although there have been numerous publications about these latest development, not most of us can afford to purchase an access, especially medical students like me. A single medical journal may cost you 20$ or plus. Sometimes, it’s just so frustrating to be redirected to an article, very related to your search, but you need to have a subscription to read the full text.

The Amedeo Challenge aims to provide the public with free full access to medical journals and books over the next few years.
