Spice up your Gmail with Different Themes

November 20th, 2008

Google is starting out to roll the new feature that lets Gmail users choose the look and layout of there Gmail dashboard.  Personally, I think the new feature is very timely because the default theme of Gmail looks plain and boring to me.

Users can choose from different layouts, whatever suits their personality, taste and mood.  The Gmail themes come in two sets: the plain ones and the artistic ones with creative backgrounds, images, and icons.

Ashish Mohta at TechnoSpot is lucky enough to experience this new feature first ahead of others and is already seeing the new themes.

To view if you already have this new feature, you can access Settings, then next to the Labs tab is the Themes tab which can let you choose the different themes.  With this new feature, I am sure lots of customized themes will be coming out later.

How To Create A Search Engine Friendly Article or Blog Post?

June 15th, 2008

A great way to expose your article on the search engines is to optimize your articles or blog posts as if they were pages on your website.

Here’s how you can get an article ranked well and generate tons of traffic:

1) Go to Google Adwords’ Keyword Suggestion tool and type in some general keywords in your niche. Look for a good Search Volume and copy those keywords into a spreadsheet or text document.

2) Search for those keywords in quotes on Google. For example, if your keyword is “dog training tips”, that’s
exactly how I would input it in Google.  Look for results of less than 2,000,000. These search terms are relatively easy to rank well for.

3) Write an article, optimized for those keywords.

4) Submit your article to the directories.

5) Start building backlinks to your keyword optimized article(s) as if they were pages on your website. You can try social bookmarking, blog posts, Hub Pages, Squidoo pages, etc. You will soon start getting some tasty placings for your article(s), and ultimately each article will start milking more traffic easily.

Your goal is to have hundreds of articles out there. That’s how you create massive traffic. And massive traffic is how to create massive money! If you are going to offer tips or advice, make a list of what you intend to include in your article.

Adsense Optimization Tip: Add Google Search to your website

June 8th, 2008

Since I started blogging, I have not opted to add Google Search for my blogs to increase my earnings. I thought it was not a good alternative to earn more. Instead, I only added blog search forms intended only for inside site searches.

Last June 1, I checked my Adsense earnings and was glad to see the first Optimization Tip message from Google itself. It said:

Dear Publisher,

Here is your optimization report for the month of June. After an automatic review of your sites, we think you might be able to improve your monetization using the following tips:

Adsense for Search adds both functionality and revenue to your site.
You are not currently using Adsense for Search on your sites.

We hope these tips are helpful, and encourage you to experiment using different layouts and formats–no two sites monetize the same way!

Sincerely,
Google Adsense

How to Use Google Adsense Without a Complete Website

May 1st, 2008

Can I use the Google Adsense Program if I Do Not Have a Personal Website? Google Adsense

You don’t have to have your own website to use Google Adsense. Google doesn’t usually approve personal pages but that is not written in stone. Consult Google Adsense support pages for more information on what kinds of pages are acceptable. If selling a product or service doesn’t appeal to you, you might consider blogging.

Blogging initially meant web log but has gradually come into its own. There are as many different kinds of blogs as there are blogs themselves. A blog can be like a cyberjournal in that you make daily “journal” entries or it can be more like a newsletter set up to inform or communicate with other people. There are several blogging sites in cyberspace that will allow you to create your own blog pages and have targeted Google Adsense ads running on them.

A few of the most popular :

- Blogger.com

Refer friends to Kontera and receive $25 bonus

April 9th, 2008

Kontera In-Text AdvertisingKontera, the leading provider of In-Text contextual advertising and information services for online advertisers, publishers, and users, is giving $25 bonus for publishers for every referred publisher.

Kontera has been a good online income generator for my blogs. I signed up as a publisher last December 2007 and have accumulated $59 earnings as of today. I started with only $0.2 average earning per day; not a good income provider you say. I sticked with it, however, because I see it as a potential income generator for my blogs. I signed up my three other blogs (my personal blog, my health blog and my medical and nursing student’s guide blog). My income substantially increased since then, reaching up to $2/day (not on a daily basis). My income now ranges from $0.5 to $2.00 per day. It’s not that much compared to my other income generator like Adsense but it augments to my daily income.
