Just recently, I decided to make a switch. I was convinced then that Globelines was the best choice after reading many recommendations on it. However, when I did “ISP crawling” last week, I ended up subscribing with PLDT MyDSL instead.
I just submitted my application yesterday but I already have my new connection now. That was fast! I applied for Plan 999, with download speed up to 384 kbps for a monthly fee of Php 999.00. I also took advantage of their free installation promo. Apparently, Jhay was right. The connection speed depends on the local area where you are located.
I saw a big difference between the download speed of Smart Bro and PLDT MyDSL. With the former, I had never achieved my desired speed which was up to 384 kbps. I only had up to 250 kbps. With PLDT MyDSL, I am paying for a download speed of up to 384kbps yet I am getting the a much higher speed. Further, online video streaming was a hassle before because I had to wait for a clip to load completely to get uninterrupted viewing.

I found this good news from Hezron Mariano’s blog while blog hopping through Pinoy Entrecards.
Remember Pandora? A friend of mind recommended it to me and I got to listen to some songs before it was restricted to US residents only. Pandora radio is the personalized internet radio service that helps you find new music based on your old and current favorites under the Music Genome Project.
Well, here’s the good alternative to all non-US residents. The box is open! You can now listen to your favorite songs through GlobalPandora.
Note: After about 30 minutes of free music listening, you are still required to open your account and sadly it’s still exclusive for US residents.
But here’s what I did to make a free account:

My sister was telling me a while ago about Yuwie, a social networking site (like Friendster, MySpace, Facebook) that pays its members for socializing! She has been looking for means to earn money online that she grabs every money-making opportunity she encounters. Although, I was hesitating to join, I accepted her invitation. It won’t cost me nothing to join anyway, so I said I will give it a try.
How does Yuwie work?
It works similarly with other social networking sites: you invite your friends, they view your page, they invite more friends, you build your network, you get more friends, etc. But it is different from the social networks we are used to because it rewards its user by cutting them in on some of the advertising profits.
You get paid for every page views and referrals. It works as a pyramid, making money off of everyone down the line. Social networks earn millions, or probably billions from advertising but none of these sites share their revenues to their users, until Yuwie introduced this feature.
