If I put an extra word in front of that phrase such as “Holistic weight loss tips for women over 40,” then you would only have 114,000 competitors. You are getting closer to your success.
You have to experiment and do your own intuitive search and try different wording, but begin by working from the suggestive keywords that you are able to get from using the free keyword search tools I alluded to at the beginning of this article.
Your next step is to find a product that will target women over 40 who want to lose weight using holistic methods.
You would go to clickbank or paydotcom to see if you can find any product. If not, you can go to Google and type in “holistic weight loss + affiliate program.” I did run the search for you and found 82,000 in my results, but not all of them are affiliate programs, but I was able to find an ecourse, product and ebook affiliate program. So you can experiment with this to see what you come up with. Your next step after doing a keyword search and finalizing which product you will promote is to create a blog and/or squidoo lens and do a 7 -14 day test to see how many people come to your page. In those initial days, you should do some social bookmarking (search the Internet, if you don’t know what that is), RSS feed submission, and article writing.
When you have done your test, you will have some idea of whether this product is worth promoting or not. You can also go to different targeted forums to see what questions are being asked to get ideas on what articles and blog post to write about.
