Last Friday, I posted about my new contest, a .com domain giveaway for 1 year. Jhay contacted me if he could sponsor the hosting. He was generous enough to offer 1 GB of storage space from his reseller account for 1 year!
I’ve updated some of the rules and contest prizes. Entries to this contest prior to these changes will remain as is.
The lucky winner will receive free 1 year registration of any available domain name (.com, .net, .info) plus a hosting with the following features:

- Unlimited SQL databases
- Unlimited E-mail accounts
- Unlimited FTP accounts
- 100 Addon domains
- 100 subdomains
- cPanel
- PHP4 & 5
- Ruby On Rails

- MySQL, SSH, SSL, IMAP, POP
About this Contest, Terms, Conditions and Prizes (Updated):
1. This contest is open to all.
2. The lucky winner will get a 1 year .com domain and 1 year cPanel hosting (see the specs above) for FREE!
3. This is exclusive for new domain name registrations and does not include domain transfer or renewal.
4. The offer is only open for .com, .net, and .info domain registrations.
5. Domain registration and the hosting will only be good for one year. This means that the winner will be responsible for the domain renewal after 1 year as well as the monthly hosting fee. But, I’m sure 1 year should be enough time to monetize your blog and raise enough money to pay for your hosting dues and domain renewals.
6. Two winner will win 100 Entrecard credits each as consolation prize.
7. Five winners will win a 1 month link in my sidebar below the Recommended Links section.
8. The domain name and hosting should not be used for illegal and explicit purposes.
The Updated Contest Rules:
1. Participants should leave a comment below, stating their participation of this contest. Please use the URL tag when posting your entries with your blog name as the anchor text. This is to avoid long URLs conflicting with my site’s layout.
2. In order to win you have to:
* Write about this contest, to include an explanation on why do you deserve to win the prize and what are your plans with the free .com and hosting. A link to my blog’s main page (http://blog.jammedph.com) and Jhay’s blog (http://jrocas.com) should be included. (5 entries)
* Subscribe through e-mail to my RSS feeds and Jhay’s. Subscriptions must be confirmed. This means you have to supply a valid e-mail address for the confirmation. This will also be used for contact purposes. (2 entries for each blog you subscribe to.)
3. Leave a comment below stating your participation in this contest, including the link for your entries (if any). Please use html tag in posting links to avoid long URLs.
Entries will be drawn randomly. The lucky winners will be contacted through e-mail. The deadline for this contest will be on February 28, 2008, 12:00 MN (Manila Time GMT +8) and the winner will be announced and contacted the following day (on the 26th).

Yes, it will only be for 1 year. You will have to pay for the 2nd year. As I’ve said, one year will be enough for you to pay the hosting and the domain through monetizing your site.

Just curious. If you will draw the winners randomly, what is the point in writing a good post about why I should win? Wouldn’t it be better if you check each post out and draw the one you think should get it? Just a thought. I understand if you don’t want to because it would take too much time though.
